Nourishing & Nutritious Green Smoothie
When I drink green smoothies, I usually just add some spinach or lettuce to frozen bananas with vanilla almond milk. You literally can’t even taste the greens that way. I wanted to make something a bit more nutrient-dense, but in the past every time I tried to make green drinks using more vegetables and less fruit it never tasted great. I made one this morning that actually tasted good (in my opinion). It was super refreshing and even though it wasn’t as good as a fruit-based smoothie, I still enjoyed it and was able to drink the whole thing without wanting to puke :)
This is great for your health. It’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, full of vitamin C, vitamin A, fiber, and calcium. This smoothie has under 300 calories so I drink it before breakfast just to get some extra nutrition in. I hope you try it out!
1 cup of tightly packed iceberg lettuce
3 small dates
1 golden delicious apple
2 mini cucumbers
1 inch chunk of ginger
1 stalk of celery
1 cup of vanilla almond milk
Peel the ginger, and pit the dates. Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender, including the juice from 1 lime.
Blend until smooth.
